Cyber Monday
New Door Report
Consolidation Summary
Cyber Monday Sales Up 16%

Black Friday may have been a disappointment but Cyber Monday saw online sale rise by 16% over last year.

This should come as good news to those retailers with online stores.

It also should be seen as an opportunity for manufacturers  to promote their products through special offers and loyalty programs.

Millions of customer reviews were accessed in UK on Cyber Monday

Bazaarvoice reported that on Cyber Monday online shoppers in the UK checked out more than 24 million customer reviews, a substantial increase over the same day last year. "We are in the last days of the year for online Christmas shopping, and it is exciting to see how many shoppers are referencing the opinions of other customers when finding the perfect gift," said Andy Leaver of Bazaarvoice.

Boxing Day Sales In Full Swing

Boxing Day sales appear to have already kicked into high gear as retailers move to ensure a successful Christmas.

Mall traffic, while steady, has not brought about the marginal increase in sales that most retailers were expecting.

Consumers appear to be holding off hoping for even deeper cuts to retail prices.

Times are tough... sales on Black Friday were only marginally higher this year than last ($42.0 vs. $42.2 billion). This translates into a ho-hum Christmas for both retailers in the US and Canada.

However, there are some bright spots on the horizon. Luxury goods have shown a good year over year growth. And those consumer goods that offer not good, but GREAT value are doing well.

The real fear on the horizon is inflation. With the rapid expansion of the money supply the consumer is seeing buying power steadily eroded...$20 does not buy what it did a year ago...despite government statistics to the contrary.

Just ask yourself a simple question...Is your Christmas budget going as far this year as it did last?

It should be an interesting January!
So how many stores actually sold your product?

Do you really know if you are getting the agreed to distribution for your products? RPC has released version 1.0 of the Door Report. This report allows you to see how many "doors" the product was sold in during a given week, period,or month.

The report gives you a summary of the number of units and sales.

Consolidation Summary

One of the hardest numbers to build is the total number of POS sales across all retailers.

Being able to see all sales at a glance allows you to quickly spot your successes and those areas needing more attention.

We get feedback daily from our customers on how beneficial these reports are. For more information on the Consolidation Reports, or how we can integrate other data sources into the report for you contact us at rpcdata@retailpulse.com
